TODAY'S BIBLE READING

OLD TESTAMENT I
Numbers 14

The children of Israel failed to reach the promised land.

They failed to acknowledge God as the good shepherd.

14:11 Then the LORD said to Moses: How long will these people reject Me? And how long will they not believe Me, with all the signs which I have performed among them?

Their failure has brought evil upon them.

14:23 they certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it.

Only those who believe reached the promise land.

14:30 Except for Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun, you shall by no means enter the land which I swore I would make you dwell in.

May God help us to believe his word and promises towards us. Amen.

Acknowledge God as a good shepherd.

Psalms 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

OLD TESTAMENT II
Proverbs 11

This Bible passage further discuss wisdom.

Wisdom is required for us to live peacefully.

11:25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.

Keep doing good and be righteous.

11:27 He who earnestly seeks good finds favor, But trouble will come to him who seeks evil.

It pays to be a good fellow than to be wicked.

11:8 The righteous is delivered from trouble, And it comes to the wicked instead.

11:10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; And when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.

The key point in this chapter is to be righteous.

NEW TESTAMENT
1 Peter 5

Humility
Psalm 138:6 Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud.

5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,

Be Humble
