Old Testament I

Exodus 29:38 - 30:10

Think of the requirement to be cleansed of sin in the old testament, but thank God for Grace, all the stress has been removed to just accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour but it’s a pity people now abuse Grace.

Old Testament 2

Psalms 78 :1-31

Psalm 78, a wisdom psalm, relates the early history of Israel in a dramatic poetic alternation between reports of the faithfulness of God to His people and of their periodic outbreaks of stubbornness, willfulness, and rebellion against Him. Asaph expresses an intense desire that the present generation not repeat the failures of so many past generations.

The structure of the poem is as follows:

  1. the lesson of the past works of God in Israel’s history (vv. 1–4);

  2. an exhortation for each generation to teach the next (vv. 5–8);

  3. the rebellion of the people of Ephraim (vv. 9–11);

  4. God’s marvellous salvation of Israel in the Exodus (vv. 12–16);

  5. the people’s complaints (vv. 17–20);

  6. God’s anger against the ungrateful people (vv. 21–25);

  7. God’s judgement through the quail (vv. 26–31);

New Testament

Acts 17:16-34

17:32 And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, We will hear you again on this matter

17:33 So Paul departed from among them.

17:34 However, some men joined him and believed, among them Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.

When you preach the gospel, you have to know that just because everybody who was there didn’t get saved didn’t mean someone or a group of people didn’t. Just focus on preaching Jesus, the Holy Spirit does the convictionDo not be discouraged by people's reactions. You can’t really judge from people's looks.  Be graceful. You have to understand it is written that people are blinded by the gods of this world

whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 2 Corinthians 4:4

So while you can see the light, they can't. Be graceful and pray for them.

We should also note Paul’s approach in preaching to the people of Athen. He observed his surroundings and used the information to corroborate his preaching. He used what they can relate with as an illustration.
