Old Testament 1
Exodus 20

God gave the Isrealites some set rules to live by.

These rules were based on how they should serve Him.

Even though these rules were in the old testament, except sacrificing animals on the altar, the laws are still valid till today. That's why Jesus said He didn't come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. This means the laws have to align with Jesus Christ teaching for it to stand.

But how will you know Jesus teaching if you don't study the Bible? Which is why it's important for us to study the scripture. It's one of the effective ways we can find out the truth, and the Truth will set us free.

Old Testament 2
Psalm 60 & 61

Psalm of prayer to God for help. And in the concluding chapter, the psalmist praised God and also kept his vow when God answered him.

A lot of people vow to God when they are in trouble, for example they say God if you deliver me from this trouble I will serve you till the end. But when God delivers them, they get too comfortable and forget God. Or maybe they ask God to bless them with a job, when God answers, that same job now becomes an excuse to not have time for God. God is not pleased and you need to change if you fall into this.

New Testament
Acts 11:1-18

Jesus Christ is for everybody and the Holy Spirit is for all believers.

Our work as a Believer in Jesus Christ is to share the gospel. We aren't mandated to select who is worthy of saving or not. The Grace of God is sufficient for everybody. It's written that God's will is that all might be saved. (1 Timothy 2:4).

And if you already believe in Jesus Christ, it's your right to have the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Surrender your heart and Holy Spirit will dwell in you. Ask God for the gifts of the Holy Spirit, He is willing to bless you!
