Old Testament 1
Exodus 15

15:1 Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying: I will sing to the LORD, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!

We should praise God when He has fought for us. We should also praise Him even while we are waiting on Him.

Old Testament 2
Psalm 51

51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.

51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

This is a psalm of prayer for forgiveness and not to go back to sin

New Testament
Acts 8:5-40

8:6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

8:11 And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.

8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Some false teachers are misleading people because we haven't shared the truth with the people.

As long as we are not speaking the truth of the Gospel, false teachers will continue to gain grounds.

Although it's been stated that on the last days, false teachers shall multiply, that doesn't mean we should fold our arms and not do the assignment which The Lord has commanded us !

8:19 saying, Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit

8:20 But Peter said to him, Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!

8:35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

We learn from this scripture that the Holy Spirit leads us to preach to people.

The question now is how many times have the Holy Spirit led you to someone and you refused to obey ? you cost heaven souls. The Grace to obey when the Holy Spirit instructs us, may God give us! Amen.

8:39 Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing.

8:40 But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.

The disciples had a lot of “wild” experience. And it’s the same Jesus yesterday, today and forever more. But why aren’t we experiencing these miracles today like the disciples did? Or we don’t have better PR? (kidding).

Here we read how the Spirit of the Lord “teleported” Philip.

God can still do beyond this today if we consecrate ourselves to His service like the Disciples did.

Action point

Make praising God a habit

Do not be afraid to share the true Gospel, the world need it

Consecrate yourself to God so that He could use you more than He did disciples

Quote

“There's a difference between knowing God and knowing about God. When you truly know God, you have energy to serve Him, boldness to share Him, and contentment in Him.”

-J. I. Packer
