Old Testament 1
Exodus 10

It is not good to be too hard on any issue or to personalize issues beyond necessary. Pharaoh played too hard on the release of the Hebrews at the detriment of the Egyptians to the extent that his servants advised him to let the people go because the effect was bad on their nation.

Some people also personalize issues that could be handled with wisdom, they prove their tyranny on those concerned. Some will not even verify from man or God whether they are fighting a good fight or not.

Pharaoh was supposed to know that the Hebrews would go at all cost because with every indication God was with these people.

Many people often belittle the people under them because there is no one to fight for them and they deal with them crookedly and cruelly but God is the owner of all people, the only difference is opportunity. Pharaoh suggested that the people should go without their animals knowing fully the people would not be able to go, because Moses turned down his suggestion he was furious to the extent he cursed himself as he said to Moses "you shall not see my face or else you will die" and Moses stamped Pharaoh's words against himself that "you have said well, I will not see your face anymore." And surely when we study the story, we will see that they both did not see one another face to face anymore, even the news of their release was sent to Moses by messengers. That is how many people curse themselves, their children, their generation, business, church and their families with annoyance and ignorance.

Wicked people will kill themselves or injure themselves. It is better to treat matters with fairness and put ourselves in others shoes. That's what Jesus taught us; to do according to what we want people to do for us. If it is our children or relatives how shall we take the matter?

The Egyptians experienced wicked locust, tick and darkness because of the tyrannical behaviour of Pharaoh. Many assemblies, districts or areas are suffering because of the wickedness and tyrannical behaviours of the ministers, elders, officers and leaders of such places.

God is calling us to peace. Let this write up create a place of forgiveness in your ministry and your life.

Old Testament 2
Psalm 22

42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.

Do we thirst for God or the pleasures of the word?

Jesus said to the woman at the well, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.

Jesus is the living water and those who come to Him shall never thirst again.

But it’s sad to see people thirst after things that are temporary. The pleasures of this world will never satisfy us. True satisfaction is in Jesus. While the satisfaction of the word drains you, the satisfaction of Jesus makes you fulfilled, it gives peace of mind.

How does a soul thirst for God?

When you know you need God, you spend more time with Him, you consume content about God that edifies online, you read about God, you take your devotion seriously, you do what pleases him.

New Testament
Matthew 25:31 - 26:2

The Disciples of Jesus and His followers were selfless. They sold what they had and shared it with those that do not have among them. This is the type of attitude we need to exhibit as Christians. Love gives. When we say we love and do not share our possessions with those who lack amongst us, what type of love is that? and remember Jesus said the 2 greatest commandments are; love God with all your heart, mind and soul. And love your neighbor.

Also, Ananias and Sapphira didn’t give the way they should. They lied about the amount they sold the land.

This also happens today, there are people who give because they want to follow the trend, they only give in church because they see others doing it and they don’t want to be the odd one so they do it anyways. Now this wouldn’t be totally bad if they did it because they were encouraged by others' attitudes. The problem is the heart with which it is done. If you give with the wrong attitude or heart, you are giving the wrong way. The bible says God loves a cheerful giver. It’s good when others act of giving challenges you to also give but give with cheerfulness and pure heart.

Action Point

Be cautious of the things you say

Seek more of God

Develop a habit of cheerful giving
