Psalms 37

This psalm is to encourage us to continue doing good and to not be envious of evil doers.

Though it may seem evil doers are doing better than you, their end is destruction. God is with the righteous and those who do good.

Even if you have a little it's better than having a lot and being wicked. Keep being faithful, trust in God , He will bless you.

Also delight yourself in the Lord. He will grant your heart desires.

God will grant your heart desires because your delight is in Him. But when your heart desires are things that do not glorify Him, He won't. So examine yourself if truly your requests are in line with God's desire for you.


New Testament
Acts 2:22-47

The word of God should drive us to repentance, not to fall.

It's unfortunate today that so many get pumped up when they hear a sermon, you hear side talks like "preach preacher" "ride on pastor". Now all this isn't the issue, the issue is if that's all the sermon does to you, get your adrenaline pumping and no genuine repentance. And we often attribute the cause to the sermon but it has to do with the person hearing the sermon too.

Peter preached the word of God unaltered and the scripture records "then those who gladly received were baptised". Which means they all didn't receive the word, some heard and refused the word, somewhere pumped but didn't receive the word because it requires REPENTANCE.

[2:44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,

2:45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

2:46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

2:47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved].

If we want the gospel to spread, this is exactly what we need to do.


Action point

Know your worth and identity in Christ

Make deliberate effort to share what you have with those in need

Prayer

1. Pray for the Grace to keep doing good

2. Pray for the Spirit to delight in God and God's will

3. Intercede for souls who are yet to accept Jesus Christ as Lord (if you are yet to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, Repent and ask Jesus Christ come into your life).

4. Pray for the revival of God upon the church today like it was in the church in the old where they were united and were contempted and glad. Praising God and having favor with all the people.

5. Pray for Christian missionaries all over the world that God should strengthen them.
