Today’s Bible Reading
January

Old Testament 1
Genesis 22

[22:8 And Abraham said, my son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering So the two of them went together. ]

Abraham was really a man of faith. Here we see Abraham put his faith into action.

Abraham's test of faith isn't just about sacrificing Isaac (a son he had in his old age). Abraham also exercised his faith by believing God would provide a lamb for their sacrifice.

If we need anything we should have faith in God for provision.

Old Testament 2
Job 25, 26 and 27

Job friends still continued to insinuate job was afflicted because he isn’t righteous.

Job's friend didn't understand that a man can be righteous before God so they project their belief on Job but Job stood his ground, He KNOWS he is righteous. As Christians we should KNOW for sure that we are righteous.

The Bible says my people perish because of lack of knowledge. What do they not know? They don’t know they are righteous. Unbelief is the main problem of so many Christians. They believe in Jesus but do not believe they are righteous. That’s contradictory. You are righteous when Jesus calls you righteous. Believe Him. (Romans 5:1-11).

Furthermore, the scripture talks about the mystery of God and how powerful God is.

[26:7 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing]

This is how powerful God is. Job had the revelation of how the earth is placed in space.

Contrary to most atheist beliefs, belief in God doesn’t erase science. God created science.

Furthermore today's passage talks about the reward of a wicked man and oppressors.

[27;13 This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, received from the Almighty.]

New Testament
Matthew 12:1-21

In this scripture, we read how the Pharisees priority is on the wrong things. Their heart is fixated on the wrong things.

Remember one of our previous teachings, Jesus said He didn't come to abolish the law but fulfill it. Jesus didn't have a problem with the law, but the heart of the Pharisees. What the Pharisee were implying is denying the authority of Jesus. Jesus is more than the law. Fulfilment of law means any law is subjected to the Authority and Approval of Jesus.

[ 12:12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath ]

We can see an example, Jesus healed a man with a withered hand and the Pharisee said it's against the law. But Jesus said it is lawful to do good on Sabbath.
